Your Guide To Aspen | Stroller in the City

[ad_1]

Every year for my birthday, which also falls during the kids winter break we escape town. This fun tradition has been going on for the past eight years, and I hope we can keep it going for years to come! Aspen was the destination of choice this year, and I’m excited to share my family guide with you all! We checked into the newly renovated Aspen Meadows Resort, now part of the Salamander Collection Resorts and just re-opened this December 2023. It features a variety of suites and rooms, dining, and four mountains to choose from when you’re ready to hit the slopes!

This mountain town is the best way to enjoy one of the top ski resorts in North America! Located in the heart of Aspen, the Aspen Meadows Resort is the perfect spot for outdoor activities enjoying the ski mountains, stunning guest rooms, spa treatments and so much more that Aspen offers. It’s our favorite place for aprés ski in the winter season and there’s no feeling like being on top of Aspen mountain. If you’re looking for the best time with family, check out this ski town!

How To Get There

From years and years of going to Aspen for work, I know a lot of the times flights to Aspen airport can get canceled due to weather. Since there are no direct flights to Aspen, we opted a flight directly from New York to Denver. From there we hired Blacklane to chauffeur us and our million bags to our hotel. The drive is far (4 hours), but we grabbed lunch along the way which broke up the drive a bit. I’ve used Blacklane several times in NYC, and find them to be super reliable. a global chauffeur service with the convenience of ride booking in just minutes. Travel to your favorite ski resort as Blacklane’s long distance service allows you to travel stress-free and save time for your winter getaway. Whether it’s comfort, flexibility or space, Blacklane has you covered.

Where To Stay

Nestled at the foot of a mountain, Aspen Meadows Resort is a nature lover’s paradise any time of year. Of course, skiing is a huge draw in the winter months. With four mountains, there’s something for everyone who loves to hit the slopes. The resort is a full 40 acres of beautiful mountain views, valleys, greenery, and wildlife that can be enjoyed year-round. From skiing and snowboarding to tennis, hiking, biking, the arts, and more, this resort was designed with everyone in mind. This gorgeous, all-suite resort sits next to the Roaring Fork River at the foot of a mountain! It’s posh, rustic, and elegant all at the same time, and from the moment you catch site of the main resort building, you feel instantly at home.

As you make your way to the resort, you’ll catch site of it and the surrounding pines and hardwoods and the majestic mountain rearing up behind it. Step into the front door, and you’ll be impressed by the modern decor that’s touched with rustic beauty to create an atmosphere that’s both clean and inviting. Every suite at the resort has been newly redecorated and revamped to provide a modern flair that pairs perfectly with the rustic beauty on full display outside the windows. The accommodations are warm and welcoming, and it makes the perfect place to relax and unwind after a hard day of playing on the slopes or trails, depending on when you visit.

You’ll also be able to take advantage of their health club with state-of-the-art cardio, weight, and workout equipment, an outdoor heated lap pool and hot tub, and complimentary snowshoes and bicycle rentals. They even offer pet-friendly accommodations for an extra $25 per day. Another big selling point about the resort is its accessibility. Aspen Meadows Resort offers shuttle service, making it easy to get to and from the resort so you can spend more time enjoying the sprawling grounds and less time thinking about logistics!

Where To Eat

Aspen Meadows Resort boasts some of the best dining in the area at West End Social. Open daily, this restaurant uses locally sourced ingredients from Colorado’s Rocky Mountains and the surrounding area to create dishes that will leave you hungry for more. And the views are just as delicious as the food. With a 270-degree view of the mountains, you’ll enjoy majestic vistas while dining on classic dishes reimagined by Chef de Cuisine Rachel Saxton. While it might sound fancy – and it is to a degree – it’s also family-friendly with options that even the kids will love.

A few other places I would recommend:
