(Reposting 2/18/24 – updated and added some details below)

There are a number of different Capital One shopping portal options. We’ve mentioned them before, and just wanted to put out a dedicated post so we can easily link to for future references:

  1. (Our Review | Direct link) Capital One Shopping online portal which is a traditional shopping portal, similar to Rakuten and Topcashback.
  2. Capital One Shopping app is the app version of the online portal and shares the same account and password with the online portal. There are sometimes elevated offers on the app which don’t show on the regular portal website. A reader tells us of getting the increased cashback in the app after actually using the app, so that’s something to try if you aren’t getting good offers.
  3. Capital One browser extension Again, this is all part of the regular Capital One shopping portal, but with the Chrome extension there are often higher offers and promo codes that pop-up.
    • The extension will often notice which products interest you and send you targeted email offers for increased rewards on that product or that online retailer; click through the link in the email to get the increased cashback rate.
    • You can also go to the homepage of Capital One Shopping and see Your Personalized Deals which are often higher.
    • Similarly, you can go to the ‘Filters’ tab on the top-right of the homepage and find special offers. These offers often follow your searches, they can be quite valuable. Even when they show an offer for a specific product, it seems to work for the entire retailer – if you click through that specific link which shows the offer.
  4. (Our Review) Capital One Offers are offers found on Capital One cards within your bank/card login, similar to Chase Offers and Bank Amerideals. These have the advantage of earning actual cashback (versus the Capital One portal which needs to be redeemed as a gift card). There is a max $1,000 cashback per 3 billing cycles which can be earned with the login Offers (versus the portal which has no limit). The official terms say to pay with a Capital One credit card, but it usually tracks fine even if you don’t do so. The main thing required is the click-through like a shopping portal. You do need to have a Capital One card or account login to get access to these offers.
  5. (Our Review | Direct link) Capital One Spring are special offers for businesses. Anyone can sign up.
