Travel Guide To Dana Point
[ad_1]
Remember when I visited California last month, well I’m super excited to share my full week of play while I was there. After all, California is my ultimate playground and while, yes, I was there sans the kids, I can confirm that it’s a playground for us adults too. California is often referred to as “The Ultimate Playground” due to its diverse attractions. From the stunning beaches and iconic landscapes, to the vibrant city life in places like Los Angeles and San Francisco, the state offers a wide range of experiences. Whether you’re into outdoor adventures, cultural exploration, or culinary delights, California’s diverse offerings make it a playground for various interests and preferences.
The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel is absolutely spectacular. I was immediately taken in by the beautiful, Spanish-inspired architecture of the resort. Its red tile roof, arched entries, and beautifully manicured grounds, complete with palm trees. It’s set atop a seaside bluff and offers panoramic views of Salt Creek Beach and the surrounding area.
Later, we headed out on a whale-watching tour with Dana Wharf Whale Watching. I was extremely excited because Dana Point is recognized as the dolphin and whale-watching capital of the world. The tour did not disappoint. While on the tour, we enjoyed beautiful views of the coastline and although we didn’t see whales, we spotted hundreds upon hundreds of dolphins. It was truly unlike anything I’ve ever seen before.
After the tour, we headed to Coastal Kitchen for lunch. True to its name, Coastal Kitchen offers gorgeous views of the Dana Point coast along with some of the area’s best food. You’ll find classic American fare like burgers and fries along with incredible salads and fresh seafood.
After lunch, we enjoyed the day and explored the Dana Point area. Head to Del Prado Avenue for a shopping excursion, and be sure to dine at any of the delicious establishments in the area. If you love the outdoors, take in the beauty of Dana Point Harbor and Doheny State Beach. Hike the Dana Point Headlands Conservation Area or learn to surf with Girl-in the Curl Surf Shop. I loved taking a yoga class at Lantern Bay Park with iHeartYoga. And that’s just the beginning of what Dana Point has to offer!
Spa
After a full day, we headed back to the Ritz Carlton for the ultimate massage. Using elements of the ocean to restore balance, The Ritz-Carlton Spa offers a comprehensive wellness journey with 12 treatment rooms and soothing saunas. Jeannine and I both had a 90 minute massage which was probably one of the best we’ve ever had!
Later on, we headed down the street to Glasspar for dinner. This beautiful restaurant redefines the classic American seafood hall. Their menu is described as “thoughtfully sourced, respectfully prepared, and creatively inspired”, and it absolutely shows. The atmosphere is fun and high-energy, and the food will satisfy any palate.
After dinner, we headed back to the resort and called it a night. We were exhausted but so pleased with our day, and it was a shame to know that it was our last night in our cozy room. The next morning, it was off to Temecula! Stay tuned for more!
