Tiger Woods’s PopStroke Putting Empire Expands into Katy

[ad_1]

Rejoice, Houston-area golfers! Katy is about to be home to a putting-focused golf entertainment hub that includes features the whole family can enjoy—and it doesn’t involve any windmills, castles, waterfalls, caves, or other monstrosities in miniature that usually accompany family-friendly putting experiences. PopStroke, a Florida-hailing golf entertainment venue from entrepreneur Greg Bartoli and Tiger Woods’s TGR Ventures, is opening its first Texas location in Katy on December 16 at noon. The one-of-a-kind golf experience includes two 18-hole putting courses as well as an amenities list that will make it a quick favorite for families, couples, and retirees looking for some affordable, hole-in-one fun.

One of the things that makes PopStroke different from other putting-focused competitors is that the venue includes a gaming area for fans of foosball, cornhole, and ping pong, as well as a playground area perfect for the kiddos. Oh, and PopStroke also comes with an outdoor dining area featuring scratch-made food as well as an ice cream parlor and multiple bars that serve craft beer, wine, and signature cocktails. Heard, the venue’s customized mobile app, even allows patrons to order food and drinks remotely that can be delivered to them anywhere on the course within minutes.

“The entire point of sale experience at PopStroke is controlled by Heard,” PopStroke founder and co-owner Greg Bartoli tells Houstonia. “If you’re out there for hours playing our 36 holes, you can have drinks, milkshakes, or whatever you want delivered to you in just minutes through the tap of your phone. We have a bar located in the center of the golf course as well as three bars inside the building.”

Between dining and imbibing, guests can take advantage of PopStroke’s two 18-hole putting courses, which feature entirely synthetic turf and incorporate undulations, fairways, bunkers, and rough—you know, the kind of topographic challenges you find at typical golf courses. The Tiger Red Course at PopStroke features strong contouring and trickly hole locations and is designed to challenge even the most experienced of putters. Meanwhile, the Tiger Black Course is ideal for families and anyone who is new to golf and features softened contours—meaning even the most unseasoned of golfers can hope for a hole-in-one.

“We like to say we have something for everyone,” added Bartoli. “Our customer base is literally anyone between the ages of three and 85, and everything is based on the time of day. During the day, you’ll see a lot of families, parents, kids, and grandparents, but as the day gets later and the sun goes down, you get more millennials and Gen Zers on date nights who are just hanging out and having a good time.”

PopStrokes’s new Katy location is the first location for the company outside of its home state of Florida. In 2023, the company plans to open additional locations in Dallas, Las Vegas, Nashville, and Myrtle Beach.

PopStroke will be open Sunday through Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to midnight.
