T
he past week was bursting with high-profile occasions with splashy outfits as the order of the day. Everywhere on the internet signaled a celebrity doing due diligence with ensembles that spoke to their personalities and sartorial expressions. There was an expected turnout of celebrities at events like the New York Fashion Week, the People’s Choice Awards, the 2024 BAFTA Film Awards, and the Vogue Ball of Arabia. Beyond that, ex-Destiny Child members Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams attended the Mea Culpa premiere, serving hotness on a platter. The entire press tour offerings on these three were the absolute truth — a not-so-subtle fashion reunion.
The Looks
Celebrity stylist Luxury Law will always suspend retirement for his muse, Zendaya. The duo makes magic without much stress. For the Dune Movie: Part Two premiere, Zendaya has been on a roll. Out of her numerous servings, she wore a silver robot Thierry Mugler piece from his 1995 archive that was the shimmer we didn’t know the week needed. Law added a diamond and sapphire necklace from Bvlgari’s 2020 “Barocko” high jewelry collection, making things sparkle even more. Interestingly, this is the first time the futuristic fembot has been worn to the red carpet. It’s officially foot-on-neck season for the stylist and his muse.
Thom Browne exhibited their latest FW24 collection in New York, and among the star-studded front row celebrity list were the iconic Janet Jackson and Queen Latifah. The two displayed an interesting spin on the brand’s signature preppy girl aesthetic. Latifah’s oversized look was crowned with a clock-inspired handbag that took her attire from stylish to innovative. Jackson, on the other hand, packed her hair into two ponies and injected a solid platform boot into the already compelling coordination.
Meanwhile, actress Joy Sunday attended the 2024 BAFTA Awards looking blood-red hot in an Atsuko Kudo latex dress. The offering flaunted a corset bodice and flirty train, and Sunday topped this up with her burgundy lipstick that further punctuated the ensemble.
