Jose Mourinho led the Stamford Bridge side to their fourth Premier League crown during the 2014/15 season in what was his second spell in London.
Signings such as Diego Costa were in scintillating form and it looked as though the Portuguese manager could enjoy a stint just as successful as his first between 2004 and 2007.
Less than six months later, Mourinho was sacked. Chelsea finished tenth and missed out on Europe entirely.
Conte was hired to take the club back to the top and he worked his magic across his debut season in charge.
Three wins from three in August was a solid start, yet the club won just once throughout September, with Arsenal inflicting a damaging 3-0 defeat towards the end of the month.
Following that humiliation, Conte changed formation to a 3-4-3, utilising two wingbacks and it proved to be a masterstroke by the Italian tactician.
Remarkably, the Blues won 13 league matches in a row after the Arsenal defeat, taking them to the summit of the table, a position which they did not relinquish.
Conte’s new formation was working wonders as Chelsea suffered zero defeats in the top flight during the first three months of 2017, looking on course to win the title.
Defeats to Crystal Palace and Manchester United in April were mere bumps on the road. A visit to the Hawthorns on 12 May proved decisive, as Michy Batshuayi scored a late winner to wrap up a famous title triumph with two games remaining.
On this day in 2017, Chelsea won their 5th Premier League title. Thank you Don Conte for all the memories 👊

Chelsea have fallen short of expectations this season as it looks like Mauricio Pochettino may struggle to break into the top half. If the club stick with the former Tottenham Hotspur manager however, they could click next season and finally get back on the road to winning major silverware again.
Without a trophy since 2021, this is their most barren run without silverware since 2003, something which needs remedied sooner rather than later.
