What Is R-Speed?

This innovation allows golfers to record and monitor swing speed performance and helps track swing speed gains. R-Speed is a non-impact feature, meaning the user does not need to hit a golf ball for the device to record swing speed. Users can combine this with their speed training programs from companies such as The Stack, SuperSpeed and Rypstick. Where these programs typically rely a separate radar device, golfers can now use the Rapsodo devices as an all-in-one package.

Don’t currently use a swing speed training system? Not a problem. R-Speed works with normal dry swings as well, meaning you can train with any club to record swing speed.

Combined with the Rapsodo R-Cloud, it not only tracks the swing speeds of each session but captures video of each swing. This allows users to watch and dissect their swings in real time. Users can also view recent swings frame by frame to see where changes and improvements can be made.

R-Speed is available only to Rapsodo users with a premium membership. It is included for the user’s first year and varies depending on whether the golfer owns an MLM2PRO or MLM.

How It Works

As with most of the Rapsodo platform, the process is pretty straightforward. Connect your Rapsodo device to your phone or tablet. Select the speed menu option to start your session.

Place the Rapsodo device six to eight feet behind you with the view window properly aligned.

Important to note your phone or tablet does not need to be directly behind you! The Rapsodo will only be using its radar function. Therefore, the camera device can be placed anywhere the user wishes. This aids in focusing on different areas in order to get the best view of what the golfer is working on.

Once the device is in place, select a preset swing speed training program (The Stack, SuperSpeed, Rypstick) or the option of none.

If you are using a specific program, follow your protocols and process for the session and watch as the Rapsodo device records each swing speed.

No other numbers outside of swing speed will show, as the sole purpose of this program is speed. Numbers for path, angle of attack, etc., are not available.

Once completed, end the session. It will then be uploaded to R-Cloud for viewing.
