My Honest Iris and Romeo Review

[ad_1]

While I certainly have a handful of tried-and-true makeup products, one of my favorite things to do is test out new-to-me brands—especially when I’ve been hearing good things about them.

Iris and Romeo is a new-ish makeup and skincare company (founded in 2019) that had been on my radar for a while before I decided to add some of their products to my routine. I don’t know about you but I had seen a lot of people rave about the brand on social media, so I thought it was finally time to put their picks to the test firsthand.

On a daily basis, I stick with a fairly simple makeup regimen, and I’ve found that a lot of Iris and Romeo products blend in perfectly with my minimalist approach.

If you’re curious about whether or not the brand is worth the hype, this is the post for you. Here, I’m sharing my honest Iris and Romeo review, including a review on their cult-favorite products: Best Skin Days and Weekend Skin.

Iris and Romeo Best Skin Days Review

Starting with the basics, the Iris and Romeo Best Skin Days product has become one of the most highly-talked about picks in their makeup lineup. Think of this product as a leveled up version of a tinted moisturizer.

It’s formulated with vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, and SPF, which makes it both a makeup and skincare product that can simplify your morning routine.

The brand refers to the product as being a “whipped” tinted moisturizer, which leaves your skin with a dewy and healthy looking finish. I will say that the consistency of Best Skin Days is really luxe, especially when you consider the fair $48 price point (a little bit goes a long way so one jar should last you several months.)

Another perk is that the moisturizer is available in a wide range of shades, making it a good option for various skin tones.

Overall, I think that this product is a good option for those who want lighter coverage on a day-to-day basis. If you’re trying to conceal any skin concerns, like melasma or hyper pigmentation, you’ll likely need to add a concealer on top.

Iris and Romeo Ceramide Multi-balm Review

If you’re looking for a makeup product that offers multiple uses in one, this is it. The Iris and Romeo Ceramide Multi-balm is a little powerhouse when it comes to tackling your makeup routine. I use it as both a blush and a lipstick, and love that it hydrated my skin while I wear it.

I’m rather picky when it comes to cheek and lip color because I don’t like when I can “feel” that I’m wearing it. If you frequently wear blush or lipstick, you most likely know what I mean (and it’s not pleasant!)

I’m pleased to report that this multi-balm feels pretty much weightless—once you put it on, you forget it’s there. Also, considering that this product is actually hydrating, I’d say the lightweight quality is quite a win.

The stick is made with avocado oil, mango butter, and ceramides, which all pair perfectly together to address dry and tired skin. These ingredients also help the multi-balm provide such a dewy finish.

As far as the downsides go, I’d say the main one is that it’s only available in three shades right now. I’d love to see them expand their options in the future!

Iris and Romeo Weekend Skin Review

If I had to choose one product that I love the most from the brand, I’d pick the Iris and Romeo Weekend Skin. When friends have asked me about this specific product, I always say that it’s comparable to the highly coveted Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter (which I know is a bold statement considering how great that product is!)

The main difference between Weekend Skin and Best Skin Days is the coverage the products offer. Weekend Skin is more in line with a foundation, offering higher coverage that’s suitable for skin concerns, like dark spots, blemishes, and fine lines. Weekend Skin is also made with a greater amount of sunscreen (SPF 50) compared to Best Skin Days (SPF 30.)

While you certainly get greater coverage with this foundation, I like that it still feels lightweight on your skin. I’m not a fan of products that feel heavy or thick on my face, and this one passed that test.

Also, even though Weekend Skin acts as a foundation, it’s really easy to apply (no brushes or blenders needed!) You can quickly slather this on with just your bare hands, as if you’re applying your daily moisturizer, and it will seamlessly melt into your skin. This makes it ideal for busy mornings or last-minute plans that you’re rushing to get ready for!

Iris and Romeo The Reset Review

As if the 5-star reviews on Sephora don’t tell you what you need to know, I’ll give you a little run down on the Iris and Romeo Reset. To summarize it: At $45 a bottle, adding this serum to your skincare routine should be a no-brainer.

It’s packed hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and ceramides, three effective yet gentle ingredients that offer a variety benefits to the skin. Some of these benefits include: reducing redness, calming skin, smoothing texture, evening skin tone, replenishing moisture, and rebuilding a bouncy, plump-looking complexion.

To use the Reset, start by washing your face, then hold the bottle about 12 inches away before misting it onto your skin. You can use the serum both in the morning and at night, as well as when you feel like you need a little pick-me-up throughout the day (it’s a nice way to refresh your makeup!)

If you need more convincing that this serum is worth adding to your routine, I’ll leave these reviews here:

“I love how this spray makes my skin feel and look!! I use it in the morning before i put makeup on, and it makes my base look so fresh. I also use it during the day here and there just because. Obsessed, I need a travel size now.”

“I purchased this on a whim because I was desperate to try to fix my severely dry skin. I started using this then added a thick moisturizer after and I’ve seen a huge improvement!! Highly recommended for those struggling with dry, flakey skin.”

“This brand is new to me but my skin has absolutely loved this addition to my routine. I’ve seen a reduction in dryness and redness on my cheeks which I struggle with in cold NY winters.”

“This is a holy grail product for me! I have sensitive skin and eczema, so I have to be careful about protecting my skin barrier. This serum spray feels so good on my face and helps my skin stay healthy and glowy.”
