IND vs ENG: Netizens brutally roast Rajat Patidar for his another failure with the bat

Indian middle-order batter Rajat Patidar‘s struggles in Test cricket persisted as he got out for just 17 runs on Day 2 of the fourth Test against England in Ranchi on Saturday.

Patidar fell victim to off-spinner Shoaib Bashir, who claimed his second wicket of the day after sending back Shubman Gill for 38 (65).

In the 35th over of India’s first innings, Patidar attempted to defend a fullish delivery that spun sharply after pitching around the off-stump. The 30-year-old found himself trapped LBW. After consulting the non-striker Yashasvi Jaiswal, Patidar went for a review. However, the Decision Review System (DRS) upheld the umpire’s call regarding the projected contact of the ball with the stumps.

Disappointed Patidar had make to a long walk back to the pavilion for 17.

Angry fans question Patidar’s place in the Indian team

With lacklustre performances of 32, 9, 5 and 0 in the previous two Tests, Patidar’s place in the final XI was already uncertain and now his another failure has made fans lose their cool.

Disappointed fans took to social media, expressing their dissatisfaction with Patidar’s display and suggesting his time in the Indian team may be temporarily over.

England all out for 353 in their first innings

Electing to bat first, England were all out for 353 in their first innings of the Ranchi Test on Saturday.

Joe Root top scored for the touring party with 122 not out, while Ollie Robinson (58) smashed his maiden test half-century.

For India, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja (4/67) and debutant pacer Akash Deep (3/83) shined with the ball.
