How Casemiro has helped Manchester United teammate Kobbie Mainoo – Man United News And Transfer News

Liverpool made Manchester United pay for their lack of defensive acumen in the late stages of the game last weekend as Harvey Elliott capitalised on Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s ill-timed challenge to win a penalty in the 82nd minute.
Mo Salah made no mistake from the spot, burying the ball into the back of the net to make it 2-2 over the weekend.
Wan-Bissaka was not the only player who was underwhelmed with his immature decision-making. The majority of players in Red lacked any composure, both in and out of possession.
Amid the chaotic meeting, Kobbie Mainoo emerged as the coolest man on the pitch, not least in the 67th minute, when he received the ball on half turn and calmly curved it into the far side of the net to make it 2-1 and send the Old Trafford crowd into a frenzy.
The goal may have made more headlines than usual, but Mainoo has consistently raised eyebrows with his calculated decision-making and accurate executions under pressure.
Seemingly, he has not been supported very well by his senior teammates, who have delivered frustrating performances on a regular basis.
However, that has not stopped Mainoo from learning their best traits in his bid to continuously improve.
In that regard, the 18-year-old shed light on things he has learned from playing alongside Casemiro.
Speaking to MUTV, Mainoo admitted: “I think just to even scan even more because I feel like he sees things before everyone else does.
He continued: “So I’m playing with him sometimes he might give you the ball and you’re not expecting it. So I think having to just be knowing what he’s thinking and always scanning. So whatever he thinks is happening next I can try and be as quick and to be clued up as to what he is thinking to do next. So I can try to get in the right positions and stuff and be around him.”
The Englishman added that even in training, he keeps an eye on the way the five-time Champions League-winning midfielder moves the ball and picks the passes.
The former Real Madrid man has been a shadow of his best self, but the United faithful would certainly be delighted to know the part he is playing in the development of the player who is likely to lead their midfield for years to come.
