Cuban Sandwich Sliders

I get it, feeding a crowd can be stressful. But worry not, this Cuban Slider recipe is here to save the day! This recipe takes all the flavors of a classic Cuban sandwich– salty ham, juicy pork, melty Swiss cheese, and tangy pickles- and packs them into bite-sized, fluffy Hawaiian rolls. Seriously the best party dish. So good.

Plus, they’re ridiculously easy to throw together. Just layer all of those ingredients, brush the tops of the rolls with a buttery garlic spread, and pop them in the oven. So go ahead and impress your friends and family with these flavorful sliders- they’re guaranteed to disappear in minutes! (Be sure to snag a few for yourself!)

Ingredient List

Alright, alright, you’re convinced. Let’s break down everything you’ll need to put these mouthwatering sliders together! (Measurements are in the recipe card below.)

  • Hawaiian Rolls: These sweet, soft rolls are the perfect base for all the cheesy, meaty goodness.
  • Deli Ham & Sliced Pork Loin: 2 types of pork for all that meaty, delicious flavor.
  • Dill Pickle Chips: Tangy punch to cut through the richness.
  • Swiss Cheese: Melty goodness for that classic Cuban flavor. If you’re feeling fancy you can also use gruyere!
  • Mustard: A bit of a tangy kick to add more flavor to your Cuban sliders. I used regular yellow mustard, but Dijon mustard will work too!
  • Garlic Butter Glaze: Easy to make and adds tons of flavor. Just butter, garlic powder, and dried onion flakes! Once this bakes to golden brown perfection, you’ll be in heaven!

How to Make Cuban Sliders

A meal for a crowd ready to go in just 40 minutes, start to finish. Let’s get started!

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Cut Rolls: Cut the rolls in half so you have a top and bottom piece. Place the bottom half in a baking dish.
  3. Add Mustard: Spread the mustard on the bottom half of the slider rolls.
  4. Top With Pork: Add the sliced ham on top of the mustard in an even layer followed by the sliced pork loin.
  5. Add Pickles: Place the dill pickle slices on top of the pork.
  6. Layer Cheese: Finally, top with the Swiss cheese slices then place on the top half of the buns.
  7. Prepare Butter Mixture: Add the butter to a small microwavable bowl. Heat until melted then mix in the onion flakes and garlic powder. Brush the butter mixture over the buns using a basting brush.
  8. Bake: Cover the baking dish with foil then bake for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 5 minutes, or until the sliders are hot, the cheese is melted, and the tops of the buns are golden.
  9. Enjoy: Cut into individual sliders and then serve immediately.

Tips and Tricks

  • Add Some Spice: Layer sliced jalapenos onto your sliders for a kick of spicy flavor!
  • Different Pickles: Switch up the flavor of your Cuban sliders by using sweet or spicy pickles! You can also try using sauerkraut or your favorite pickled relish!
  • For a Quick Meal: Made too many? These sliders reheat beautifully. Wrap them in foil and pop them in the oven at 375°F for a few minutes until warmed through.

Storing Leftover Sliders

Here’s how to store these little sandwiches for a quick and easy lunch! There’s so much flavor packed into each Cuban slider, and you will love them even more the next day!

  • In the Refrigerator: Store Cuban sliders in an airtight container for 2-3 days.
  • Reheating: The best way to reheat your leftover sliders is in the oven so they don’t get soggy. 15-20 minutes at 375 degrees Fahrenheit should do the trick! You can also pop them in the air fryer for 4-5 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
