Most Comfortable Special Occasion Shoes You Will Look Forward to Wearing – Beth Ferguson

[ad_1]

Regardless of your age or shoe size you always want to have a great pair of special occasion shoes that you look forward to pulling out. You know the ones. They are a little more sparkly or special than what you normally wear. They may even make you feel a bit like Cinderella.

Special occasion shoes can be worn in lots of scenarios. You may need them for a wedding, a gala, a special birthday party, or a big wedding anniversary celebration. Some may call them cocktail dress shoes, others party shoes. They are all the same. What is most important is that they not only look great, but they are comfortable.

Before we find some of the best shoes to don for your next soiree here are some other shoe posts I have written that you might want to check out. I wear a size 5 shoe so every shoe I talk about is available in that size and above.

Why You Need Comfortable Special Occasion Shoes

A pair of comfortable special occasion shoes is a must. Depending upon the occasion, you may be standing or moving around a lot. Who knows dancing may even be involved. So the last thing you want is achy feet. Or even worse a blister the next day. Yikes.

Yes, I know that party shoes are not something that we do not wear regularly. However, that doesn’t mean that we should sacrifice comfort. Those 4-inch stilettos might look good with your cocktail dresses and fancy clothes, but will you be able to stand in them for a cocktail party or dance the night away? Every woman should have at least one pair of special occasion shoes that are neutral so that she can pair them with multiple types of looks.

What To Look For In Special Occasion Shoes

When you are looking for a good pair of comfortable party shoes here are some things you should keep in mind

  • A heel that is not too high (everyone is different about this height)
  • Plenty of arch support
  • Padded footbed

Now I know you are thinking these are going to be “old lady” shoes if they have all of those things. Not so. There are shoe brands out there that include this in their shoes all of the time. It is so nice that podiatrists and shoe designers are working together to make this happen.

Three brands come to mind that I love that have these features in EVERY heel they make. In my opinion, none of their shoes look like “old lady” shoes. They are chic and stylish. Timeless designs that do not go out of style after one season. Whenever I am in the market for any type of heel these are my go-to websites. Ally and Inez are available only online. Sarah Flint has two stores, but mainly online. All offer free shipping and returns.

My Favorite Style of Special Occasion Shoes

I am a classic 3″ pump girl. I think the very first pair of heels that I got as a teenager was a 3″ pump and to this day they are my favorite style of shoe to wear. Since I wear a size 5 you will always see me in a pointy-toe pump. Classic pumps never go out of style and since I don’t wear my special occasion or party shoes often I don’t like them to date my outfits.

One of the things that I like to point out about Sarah Flint is that she makes all of her classic pumps in three heel heights. A kitten heel, a 3″ stiletto, and a 4″ stiletto.

I wanted to show the heel heights/styles side by side. It just gives a good visual so that you can compare them when you are shopping online. Whether you are shopping on Sarah Flint or a department store this is just something to keep in the back of your mind. Even for your non special occasion shoes. If you can wear heels, then wear them. If they bother you, then try a kitten heel. I am sure that Audrey Hepburn ahd her reason for making them so popular.

High Heel Options For Your Next Soiree

These are probably the easiest style of special occasion shoe to find. Below are styles that will not go out of style next year. You don’t have to pay an arm and a leg so I am going to link varying price poinst of stilettos. Just make sure that you walk and dance around your home in any shoe that you consider for your next night out on the town.

I Can’t Wear Heels – What Are My Options

Not all women are comfortable wearing stiletto heels. I get it. You have to do you and what works for you. There are so many other styles that can be easier on the feet and legs and look fabulous with cocktail dresses and dressy outfits.

I am going to give you options for each of these categories of shoes. Some of the brand that have a good selection and are known to be comfortable special occasion shoes (besides the 3 that I mentioned above) are Naturalizer, Marmi, Loeffler Randall, and Nina. It is a wide pricepoint range so you just have to order and try the shoes on with your special outfit to find what works best so that you can have fun and not worry about achy feet and legs.

Block Heels

Block heels do make you a bit more stable than a stiletto. So if you can wear the height but just aren’t comfortable in the stiletto this may be the route to go. You can find blog heels in 2″ and 3″ versions.

Platforms

Some women love the return of the platform sandal. If you choose to go this route, just make sure that the platform isn’t too chunky or heavy for a special occasion shoe.

Flats

Yes, there are dressy flats out there that work as special occasion shoes. There isn’t always a large selection of them so when you find a good one that fits your foot make sure you snag it.

Thanks, Let’s Keep In Touch

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope that I helped you find a pair of comfortable special occasion shoes for your next soiree. It is so much more fun when your feet are happy during your special events. We shouldn’t have to compromise on looks for comfort is my motto.
