10 fastest UK parkrun times on 23rd March (2024)

Rebecca Bunting and Robert Crowley ran the fastest parkrun times in the UK this weekend (23rd March).
Our weekly parkrun top ten is now sponsored by Vertebrate Publishing (my publisher) and here’s a link to buy my book on their website. They actually have a bunch of great books to choose from, especially the mountaineering ones, so don’t feel like you have to buy 1001 Running Tips.
It was all about Dulwich parkrun this week, with 1st and 5th female and 1st and 2nd male were all in South London (and it’s this week’s fastest course), but I’m very excited to tell you who was third fastest male this week.
Rebecca Bunting of London Heathside ran 17:04 in London, having been in action a lot this year having already broken 17 minutes at the same event in February. The 2:41:47 marathoner has also run for Great Britain and Northern Ireland at the European 50k Champs in 2022.
The fastest male was a duke out between two runners at Dulwich, with Robert Crowley and Jack Hallas just eight seconds apart. The Newham and Essex Beagle ran 3:58.53 for 1500m indoors in February and is taking that form into his longer running too it seems with 15:18 today.
Hallas, of the same club, ran 15:26 and is getting closer to his 15:06 parkrun PB from 2015. Last year also saw Hallas run a half marathon PB of 70:45 so we can expect a little more of the same as the year goes on.
The best of the rest
At Rickmansworth parkrun it was Leila Williams who was first finisher with 17:07. We have two Leila Williams on Power of 10 but we’re not sure which one is our runner here as the most likely is an U17 100m and long jumper from Wales. Let us know if you have any more information?
Indira Patel was third fastest female at Long Eaton parkrun with 17:11. The Shaftesbury Barnet Harrier is an U23 athlete who ran a 16:43 5k PB at Podium Festival 5K last weekend so is running well and the year really is just getting started.
No research needed for this last one
Third fastest male this week was none other than yours truly. After all these years it’s the first time I have actually featured in my own top 10 at Perth parkrun in Scotland with a 15:31. It’s four seconds off my 5k road PB from Armagh, so I’m happy with that for a 24hr runner.
Training is going well for longer distances, but always nice to experience a new parkrun and the team at Perth did a fantastic job and the weather was good too.
I’m in Perth as England team manager for the Anglo-Celtic Plate 100k, which is tomorrow. Follow the action on the link here.
