Well, I think the best way for me to show y’all how awesome Golden Chef and Life brands products are is not just to tell you but simply to SHOW YOU! I’m going to try my best and showcase some ways I enjoy using these products at home and hopefully give you some ideas of your own 😁

Hor Fun is kind of a staple for Iftar in my family. My Dad used to cook Hor Fun super often and it was always super awesome. You can modify the recipe to include more stuff or even swap it out for Beef Hor Fun too. So many possibilities and Golden Chef is there to provide the base flavours for this simple yet satisfying dish.
The key Golden Chef (GC) ingredients here are the GC Premium Oyster Sauce with Dried Scallop, GC Premium Dark Soy Sauce and GC Premium Light Soy Sauce. Here’s a fun fact about the GC Premium Oyster Sauce with Dried Scallop – it packs a full flavour punch but is actually 25% lower in sodium than regular oyster sauces! 💪🏼

Ingredients
3-4 tbsp GC Premium Oyster Sauce with Dried Scallop
5 tbsp GC Premium Dark Soy Sauce
2-3 tbsp GC Premium Light Soy Sauce
400gm Kway Teow aka Flat Rice Noodles
6-8 Prawns (peeled & de-veined)
1 Fishcake (thinly sliced)
10 Fishballs (cut into halves)
8 Crab Sticks (cut into halves)
5 stalks Sawi aka Chye Sim (separate leaves and stalks)
8 tbsp Cooking Oil (for frying Kway Teow and for gravy)
2 tbsp Garlic (minced)
2 cups Water
1 Eggs (optional for thickening)
3 tsp Cornflour (optional for thickening)
Method
1. Add 4 tbsp Cooking Oil into hot wok and add Kway Teow
2. Add Golden Chef Premium Dark Soy Sauce over Kway Teow
3. Stir-fry and toss to coat Kway Teow evenly with Dark Soy Sauce
4. Once Kway Teow evenly coated and cooked, take off stove
5. Add 4 tbsp Cooking Oil into hot wok
6. Add Fishcake, Fishballs, Crab Sticks, Prawns and Sawi stalks.
7. Add Golden Chef Premium Oyster Sauce with Dried Scallop and stir-fry all ingredients til cooked.
8. Add water and leave to simmer
9. Add Golden Chef Premium Light Soy Sauce and mix
10. Once gravy is simmering, you may choose to add Egg or cornflour (mixed with some water) to thicken gravy (optional).
11. Dish out Kway Teow onto plate and pour gravy over Kway Teow
12. Serve and enjoy!

I had fun making the dish but I had more fun eating it if y’know what I’m saying 😝
Oh, and here’s a PRO TIP: Enjoy your Seafood Horfun with some chili padi & GC light soy sauce OR some chili jeruk (pickled green chillies) and tomato sauce. Trust me on that one 😉

I’m glad to report that the end result was SEDAP!
I’d seen this recipe going viral on social mdia for quite awhile and decided this was the perfect time to try it. Especially because I had all the GC ingredients I needed namely ! It’s simple to prepare and packs a punch in the flavour department for sure. Best enjoyed with some hot GC 100% Organic Thai Hom Mali Fragrant Rice!
Ingredients
1 tsp GC Premium Light Soy Sauce
5 Eggs
2 large Fresh Tomatoes (chopped)
3 tbsp Tomato Sauce
1/2 tsp Pepper
2 stalks Green Onion (chopped)
8 tbsp Vegetable oil
1/4 cup Water
1 serving GC 100% Organic Fragrant Thai Hom Mali Rice
4-5 Chilli Padi (chopped for garnish)
1/2 cup Green Onions and Cilantro (chopped for garnish)
1 tbsp Sugar (optional)
Method
1. Add 4 tbsp Cooking Oil into hot pan
2. Add some chopped Green Onion and Chili Padi and stir-fry on low heat til fragrant
3. Add chopped Fresh Tomatoes. Stir-fry and cover with lid til tomatoes soften
4. Add tomato sauce and GC Premium Light Soy Sauce. Mix well and let it simmer for 5 mins and set aside
5. Beat 5 eggs in a bowl. Add pepper and mix well
6. Add 4 tbsp Cooking Oil into hot pan
7. Pour in egg mixture and mix slowly. Ensure heat is low or else eggs will overcook
8. Add in earlier Tomato mixture and mix slowly with egg
9. When ready, serve onto dish
10. Drizzle some GC 100% Pure Sesame Oil over
11. Garnish with chopped Cilantro and Chili Padi
12. Serve and enjoy!
Here’s a simple yet classic dish that I’m sure many of you will be familiar with. In fact, it’s probably a dish we grew up with and still enjoy now no matter how old we are. Well, I took this timeless dish up a notch with some GC Premium Dark Soy Sauce for some extra kick! 😁
I found that the GC Premium Dark Soy Sauce was quite ‘lemak’ and thickened up nicely during the cooking. The result was a tasty dish especially when paired with the rest of the simple ingredients.

Ingredients
20 tbsp GC Premium Dark Soy Sauce
3-4 Eggs
2 Large Red Onions (roughly sliced)
5 cloves Garlic (roughly cut)
2-3 Red and Green Chilli Padi (roughly cut)
4 tbsp Cooking oil
1/2 cup Water
1 serving GC 100% Organic Fragrant Thai Hom Mali Rice
2-3 Red and Green Chilli Padi for garnish
Method
1. Add 4 tbsp Cooking Oil into pan
2. When oil is hot, add Garlic and Red Onions. Stir-fry on low heat til fragrant
3. GC Premium Dark Soy Sauce an mix well in pan. Add some water to dilute.
4. In separate pan, fry eggs (sunny side up style)
5. When soy sauce gravy has thickened, add chili padi and turn off heat
6. Serve cooked GC 100% Organic Thai Hom Mali Fragrant Rice on plate
7. Top with fried egg and pour generous amount of soy sauce gravy and garnish with more chili padi
8. Optional – add fried eggs into the soy sauce gravy pan and mix before serving
9. Serve and enjoy!
That’s what I’m talking about when I say comfort food! I’ve cooked this several time already this Ramadan 😁 This is a classic dish and I know many of y’all have probably enjoyed it recently too. So simple yet so satisfying! Many variations to how it’s cooked but use GC products and take it to the next level 💪🏼
