Elfuego – A Cut Above The Rest
[ad_1]
I have to be honest – Elfuego is one of my favourite places to visit for a meal 🙌🏼. Whether it’s romantic rendezvous or a makan session with family and friends, there’s something on their amazing menu for everyone to enjoy. They’ve even got several options that are perfect for sharing and this Ramadan.
Now, just to clarify – this is not a set meal ok 😁. It’s individual ala carte dishes for us to enjoy and I think that’s even better because we can choose whatever dishes we fancy and the perfect opportunity for everyone to share and try all the food! Plus, they’ve still got their awesome regular menu available so it’s a win-win.
Let me run down for you what we tried on their special Ramadan line-up.
Started our epic meal with some selections from their Appetisers – two from their special Ramadan menu and one that’s simply a MUST HAVE whenever we visit Elfuego. Anyways don’t worry – we’ll go through a few more dishes from their regular menu at the end ok 😁
First up was the Pomme Salad – a roasted potato salad dressed with some baby spinach, mustard dressing with spiced honey Dukkah crumb. Dukkah (or Duqqa) is a Middle Eastern dressing made primarily with spices and nuts. You’ll get a hint of nuts in there but the light mustard and honey hints even things out. Definitely an interesting flavour if you’ve never tried it before.
The Deep-fried Chicken Wings are a bit more familiar. They come with a Spicy Thai Dip which I believe many will enjoy (even the kids). To round things off, we had the classic choice of Steak Fries. Trust me – when you visit Elfuego, get an order of Steak Fries while you wait for your food. It’s simple and yet so shiok especially when enjoyed fresh and hot! Anyways, you can always enjoy these Steak Fries with your mains especially if you’re having meats.
On to the Mains we go! And like a lot of the selections on the Elfuego menu, they’re very suitable for sharing.
The Charcoal-Grilled Australian Lamb Rump with Beef Jus seems like a simple serving but is so satisfying. Savour the flavour of the lamb that is complimented by the Beef Jus. I’d definitely give extra marks for the Brussel Sprouts that comes on the side!
If you’re in the mood for some seafood, the Salt-Baked Thai-style Red Snapper brings just that along with some Asian-inspired flavours. The Red Snapper was super fresh and given a simple salt-bake which means you enjoy the natural sweetness of the fish. You may start off thinking you’re missing some rice but the fish is tasty enough you’ll enjoy it on its own.
Here’s definitely one for sharing (unless you’re really a super duper hungry big eater lah 😝). The Assorted Meat Platter is a sharing platter that features 3 Elfuego signatures which, coincidentally, we have enjoyed as individual dishes in past visits.
All my fellow carnivores can unite here! The trio of Honey Glazed Duck Breast, Slow-cooked U.S. Short Rib and Sous Vide Chicken is sure to satisfy your meaty cravings. Like I mentioned earlier, I’ve tried all 3 dishes individually before and I can tell you that the Teriyaki U.S. Beef Short Ribs is probably my top favourite. But whichever your fave, there’s enough to go around the table as y’all enjoy this platter.
To round of the selection of dishes from their Ramadan menu, we had the Spelt Risotto. Spelt is actually a type of grain that’s similar to barley from what I know. In fact, that’s exactly what it looks like when you looks closely at the pics above.
There’s some kale and walnuts in there and the broth has quite a bold flavour. I quite enjoyed this dish because I’m a sucker for Risotto but I can see how this may be an acquired taste for many especially since it’s a dish that we don’t come across often.
Anyways, just to confirm that Spelt is spelt Spelt. (Geddit?) 😝
Jokes aside – those are the special Ramadan menu dishes at Elfuego. But we did promise a rundown of some other dishes you’ll find on the regular menu there so here you go.
Two of the more popular choices are the Poached Argentine Red Prawns and Croquette of Wagyu Beef.
The Poached Argentine Red Prawns are a cold appetiser and I’ve read that the premium Argentine Red Prawns are quite coveted as an ingredient. The Croquette of Wagyu Beef is a hot appetiser and the beefy goodness contained within the crisp potato exterior is *chef’s kiss*
Some delectable options with the Wagyu Flank Steak and Australian Lamb Rack for sure. The other dishes displayed above you may find familiar from the Assorted Meat Platter we mentioned earlier in the special Elfuego Ramadan menu rundown.
Seems like mostly meat dishes so far but if you’re looking for some alternatives, the Pan Roasted French Seabass and Baked Tasmanian Ocean Trout are also excellent choices.
They’ve also got several Sharing options too like Lobster Bouillabaisse, French Seabass, Chicken Casserole, Charcoal-Grilled Australian Lamb Shoulder, Charcoal-Grilled Argentine Black Angus Short Rib and the popular Charcoal-Grilled Australian Black Angus Tomahawk Steak. For the Sharing dishes, I love how they’ll bring the whole big dish out to the table to admire (good chance to take some photos for your Instagram feed too LOL) before they take it back to cut/carve and serve back to you to enjoy.
And of course, we end an epic meal with some desserts and wash it all down with some Elfuego signature beverages.
I think the most popular (and interesting) dessert choice is going to be the Tiramisu. Not only is it a great end to a meal but I find it kind of cool that it’s literally shaped like a mushroom (I call it the Tira-mushroom) hahaha! But don’t worry – it tastes nothing like a mushroom and there’s good reason why it’s so popular and that’s because it’s delicious 😁. Chocolate lovers should definitely try the Chocolate Royal. It’s so decadent and rich and if it doesn’t satisfy your chocolate cravings than I don’t know what will.
There are quiet a number of beverages to choose from on the menu too. I’ll be honest and say I almost always order the Bartender’s Choice which is basically a lucky dip of drinks where they prepare a special beverage of the day. If you’d like to be more decisive, then perhaps beverages like the Litchi Fragola or Watermelon Lime might hit the spot? They also have a selection of teas, sodas and juices too.
@thehalalfoodblog Good food must share.. so gather up the makan kakis 😋 #halal #makan #food #tiktoksg #fyp
Whether you’re going for their special Ramadan selection or their regular menu, Elfuego is guaranteed to satisfy 🙌🏼
Walk-ins to the restaurant are accepted but I’d say reservations are definitely advisable if you’re planning to head down for Iftar. So time to gather up your family, friends and makan kakis because you’re definitely going to want to share all this good food 😇
