Navy dresses are so versatile in the spring and summer. They can be dressed up or down easily. You can wear many colors to complement them so it’s easy to change up your accessories to get a fresh look.

Think of navy this way. During the cooler months, we gravitate to black as our go-to neutral color. In the warmer months, navy is your go-to neutral. So instead of reaching for a favorite LBD, reach for a LND.

Shoe Color Options To Wear With Your Navy Dresses

Ahhh shoes. One of my very favorite subjects. I love all kinds of shoes—flats, kitten heels, heeled sandals, wedges. Of course, the dress will dictate which style of shoe looks best with it, but when it comes to colors here’s a list of them that you can wear with casual navy dresses.

• Cognac (tan)
• White
• Gold
• Your favorite color to “pop” the navy. Could be a bright pink, red, or even kelly green.
• White fashion sneakers are fantastic with very casual navy dresses.

Colors To Coordinate With Or Accentuate Navy

For complementary colors to navy, look to its opposite on the color wheel. From there you can find the best colors that will make your navy dress “pop” for you.

Some of the best colors to go with a navy dress are:

• Yellow – for a big contrast
• Spring green – for a refreshing look
• Bright Pink – feminine and chic look
• White – easily lends itself to a more nautical look

You should do you and wear colors that speak to you. Notice in the photo directly above I am wearing bracelets with sea green, turquoise, and a very light tan with gold. Those are some of the colors that I like to wear with navy. I felt that it tied together with the raffia handbag.

Jewelry Options To Wear With Navy

You can wear silver, gold, or pearls easily with navy dresses. The warm tones in gold will bring out the richness of the fabric. Silver will be a cooler option if that looks better on your skin tone. Don’t forget about your pearls. You may not want to break out the long strand of pearls to wrap around your neck, but a simple pearl necklace or bracelet is always classy and understated.

Navy Dresses Options For Petites This Season

A good selection of navy dresses always shows up in the spring. Whether you are looking for something to wear to stay cool or if you are looking for a casual dress to wear to dinner there’s one out there for you.

Since I am a dress lover and a petite, I have my favorite retailers that I know will always have a few casual navy dresses each season. It just depends if you want one that hits above the knee or if you want a little more length.

Mini

I love a good shorter navy dress for hot days in the South. They pair so well with a pair of comfortable sandals or white fashion sneakers. I like this dress to wear with sneakers or a low-heeled sandal. This drawstring waist dress is definitely what I call one of my sneaker dresses.

Midi/Maxi

When it comes to midi and maxi dresses I do my best to find true petite sizing. The main reason is that many times hemming can be involved and expensive. I find that this length of dress looks better on me if I have at least a kitten heel on. If it is a very casual long dress then try a platform sneaker. That will keep everything balanced better for a great look from head to toe. Here are some great midi and maxi options for this season.

Petite Friendly Options

I think all petite women are used to wearing some non petite sized clothing. I have learned over the years how to look for certain types of waistlines, sleeves, and dress bottoms to know if something might work for me. So I never discount searching for a few brands to find a hidden petite-friendly gem of a dress. The dress that I am wearing in the photos is not petite sizing and I would have it in multiple colors/patterns in my closet. The dress is that good. I am wearing an XXS.
