Are There Any Legal Steroids In The US?
[ad_1]
There is only one way to obtain legal steroids in the United States, and that’s with a doctor’s prescription. However, you’ll need to have blood tests and other lab work done to determine whether you have a medical need.
There are several legal steroid options available by prescription, too. If this is not an option for you, there’s also the ability to travel outside the US to countries like Mexico, where there are many from which to choose.
When a Prescription Is Likely
The most common reason why physicians prescribe legal steroids is low testosterone in men. As men age, their bodies slowly stop producing the same amount of testosterone, and this causes a host of side effects.
Things like weight gain, low libido, erectile dysfunction, and even Fatigue can all be attributed to this very common condition. As such, men can visit their doctors and receive a legal steroid injection, cream, gel, pill, or even patch that will deliver exogenous testosterone and alleviate these issues.
Which Legal Steroids are Available by Prescription?
Although there are Legal Steroids in the United States when they are prescribed by a doctor, the selection is relatively limited. At the time of writing, the products available in the US with a prescription include:
Testosterone –
Almost all forms of testosterone are available with a prescription. This includes enanthate, cypionate, undecanoate, and propionate. There is also testosterone Suspension in the US, which combines several of these into a product that is both fast-acting and offers extended-release.
Deca Durabolin –
Although rare, some physicians can and do prescribe Deca Durabolin. This is typically reserved for cases of delayed puberty or in cases when the body cannot produce enough testosterone due to some sort of medical condition.
Winstrol –
Winstrol is another commonly provided by physicians, and it is tolerated quite well when compared to Deca Durabolin. This is another option for delayed puberty, conditions that inhibit growth, and certain other medical problems that cause hormone imbalances.
It’s probably the strongest legal steroid in the US, and many people use the veterinary form since the human-grade substance is more difficult to find.
Anadrol –
Anadrol is the most commonly prescribed legal steroid in the United States. It is an oral form of testosterone undecanoate, which is widely regarded as one of the most tolerable forms of the hormone.
The United States FDA (Food and Drug Administration) has placed many types on a controlled substance list under the premise that they are addictive, and because they feel that some of these compounds offer very little in terms of medical use, they are simply banned.
Traveling Out of the Country
If none of the options available with a prescription suit you, or if you fail to demonstrate medical need to your physician, then you can also consider travelling outside of the country to obtain.
People in the US typically travel to Mexico, where they are widely available without a prescription. In fact, many are available over-the-counter in pharmacies; you can simply buy them and take them without fear of repercussion.
Keep in mind, though, that bringing them across the border back into the United States is a serious offense. To limit risk, many athletes and fitness buffs stay in Mexico to complete their cycles.
The Availability in the US
Despite their legal status, many people are surprised to learn just how rampant use is in gyms across the country. In fact, no matter where you live or how small your town, there’s a good chance that someone in your gym is doping. All too often, people simply assume that they are reserved for people the size of mountains – those who have giant muscles all over their bodies and not an ounce of fat to be found.
This is simply not the case. Average, everyday people who want to maintain beach bodies without the need to count Macros or spend countless days in the gym use them for this reason, too. Though saying that, getting there still requires a lot of work, they just allow you to get their quicker or achieve a body that is otherwise impossible with Genetics alone.
Should Steroids be Legal?
While it’s clear to see that they are illegal in the US without a prescription, a growing number of athletes, bodybuilders, and fitness enthusiasts think this should change. A 2012 article published by Forbes put this into perspective after Melky Cabrera and Bartolo Colon both received 50-game suspensions for testing positive for simple testosterone.
On the same day the article was posted, the US Anti-Doping Agency effectively stripped Lance Armstrong of his seven medals from Tour de France and banned him from competing for the Rest of his life.
Testosterone products have become the bane of athletes’ existence, and that’s why many people think it’s time to just legalize them. Performance enhancers were originally banned because they gave the athletes who used them an unfair advantage – not because they were considered dangerous.
In fact, the Olympic Games Committee and most major Sports leagues banned them long before they were illegal. Though these leagues seem to hand out suspensions left and right, there’s one thing many people don’t consider: these are not the only people in sports Juicing; they’re just the ones who got caught.
This means that, even with the ban, the playing field is not even, and it’s the players getting suspended for using testosterone or testosterone derivatives who are getting the short end of the stick.
The Benefits of Legal Anabolics
Some argue that the best way to implement legal steroids involves still requiring a doctor’s prescription, but removing the consequences and social stigma that may arise from physicians prescribing them as performance enhancing drugs (PEDs).
As such, athletes (professional and otherwise) should be able to go into their doctors’ offices, have physicals and lab tests, and prove they are healthy and responsible enough to use in such a way that they won’t endanger their health.
In fact, some people believe that this is the best way to use – under the supervision of an experienced sports physician who can monitor patients for unwanted physical changes and side effects, then adjust the cycle or stack as needed.
Finally, it is important to remember that without the fans who watch sports, there would be no sports. The fans attend the games, buy the merchandise, and provide word-of-mouth advertising, so the athletes must live up to fans’ expectations.
Legal steroids for performance enhancement would undeniably make these events more interesting, and they may even lead to a few broken world records during events. These are the things that drive viewership and interest, after all.
It’s just good for business, just as it was good for business when merchandise flew off the shelves as Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa broke baseball records left and right – all because they were using.
As you can see, there are still options despite the US’s strict laws pertaining to anabolics. You can get them from your doctor, but if this fails, you can also travel to one of several foreign countries to get your legal steroids.
Options other than Mexico include the Bahamas, Columbia, Costa Rica, Hong Kong, India, parts of Greece, Korea, Puerto Rico, and Thailand. Advocates continue to push for legal steroids in the US, but so far, there are no changes to these laws in sight.
