There’s always a lot happening in the Columbus restaurant world! Here’s the latest:

  • Just yesterday Condado Tacos announced that it will open its 50th (!) location overall, taking over the former pub space at the southeast corner of Lower.com Field. The opening is timed for the Crew’s home opener next week Saturday, Feb. 24. Condado opened its first store in 2014 in the Short North. This will be their ninth location in central Ohio.
  • Last weekend Crimson Cup Coffee opened its newest store, its fifth around central Ohio, at 6459 Artesian Run in Lewis Center, in a new build complete with a drive-through. This joins shops in Clintonville, Upper Arlington, Easton, and a drive-through only spot on Olentangy River Road.
  • Dirty Frank’s Hot Dog Palace announced this week that it’s opening a location near campus at 2036 N. High St., in the storefront that was once a location of Poke Bros.
  • Matt the Miller’s Tavern has closed its location at 1436 Gemini Place near Polaris. This leaves only one restaurant left in central Ohio, at 6725 Avery-Muirfield Dr. in Dublin.
  • Next week Thursday, Feb. 22, Tucci’s in Dublin will open up its massive new expansion. The Italian restaurant is also bringing back lunch service starting Monday, Feb. 26.
  • Dosa Kitchen Indian Grill recently opened at 1307 Stoneridge Lane in Gahanna, serving a mix of Indian, Nepali, and Indo-Chinese fare.
  • Belle’s Bread in the Japan Marketplace announced that it’s embarking on a multi-month expansion, to update its space and to allow for dine-in service once again. The owners said the bakery and cafe will remain open during the renovations.
  • Speaking of expansions, the Clintonville vegan deli Seitan’s Realm just unveiled a renovations that include a bigger dining room and patio space.
  • FYR restaurant in the Hilton Tower was named one of USA Today’s 2024 Best Restaurants of the Year, a list highlighting 47 eateries across the country.
  • Luna Pizza Kitchen shared that it’s getting ready to open a second location at 4238 Morse Rd.
  • The Ohio Distillers Guild announced the new Ohio Distillery Trail launching May 22 of this year. Visitors can stop by participating distilleries and earn rewards.
  • Get your crockpots ready! Souper Heroes returns for the first time since 2020. The potluck-style fundraiser is coming for three dates to the indoor Worthington Farmers Market, starting on Saturday, Feb. 24 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Participants just bring a crockpot of their favorite soup to share, and guests donate to the featured charity – the Worthington Resource Pantry – while sampling soups.
